The fabulous people at Nylon Magazine posted this behind-the-scenes look at the hair, makeup and nails done for Marc Jacobs Fall/Winter 2010 Runway.
- Francois Nars designed a beautiful “cool sexy girl” makeup look, very easy, real and sexy with lots of mascara!
- Creative Nail Design created a lavender beige shiny nail. So pretty, “greige” (gray/beige) is a huge trend this season.
- Guido Palau created a very easy and sophisticated hair look that is slightly undone, down and a little messy but with lots of texture.
I loved this runway, it was one of my favorites this season.

I love Louis Vuitton, not only because of the popularity of the brand, but because of the craftsmanship and the quality of all of their leather goods. I tend to be one who prefers their classic Monogram collections and never quite cared for the look of the Damier collection which is also vastly popular.
My opinion and tastes were changed when Louis Vuitton released their Damier Azur Collection earlier this year. The new, Spring 2010 Damier Azur collection takes the classic Damier design and gives it a nautical flare with off-white and blue in place of brown and deep brown.

The design is very subtle but equally as gorgeous and supple as the Monogram designs. My mother purchased one of these purses and she loves it!
As is customary with all Louis Vuitton designs, the handbags are well-made with intricate details and supple leather. I know for so many people, Louis Vuitton seems like a ridiculously expensive handbag but they really put a lot of time and craftsmanship into each piece of leather they sell. You pay more but you have in return, a handbag that will last you the rest of your life if you take decent care of it.

That’s the difference with Louis Vuitton, is that the handbags and luggage items are so well-made that they can last you a lifetime. The Damier Azur Collection is one of the more affordable ones currently available at Louis Vuitton.
Nautical inspired fashion and accessories are very “in” for Spring 2010, this is just one way you can incorporate the nautical trend that’s so hot in your wardrobe!! Louis Vuitton also has another nautical inspired design for their Cruise Spring 2010 collection, you can check that out at their website.
If you are able to buy one, do so soon because like all limited edition Louis Vuitton items, they’ll sell out sooner than later!

Dutch fashion brand G-Star, has named model turned actress Liv Tyler as their new “Brand Ambassador” as they try to expand their popularity in the United States. The celebrity offspring and one of the most beautiful women in Hollywood, looks amazing in the photo stills from her new Fall/Winter 2010 ad campaign for the brand.
“Liv is a great fit for the brand because she exudes the perfect level of sensuality, a characteristic very important to G-Star,” says the label. “She’s a strong, beautiful and independent woman with an impeccable feeling for style.”
Liv, who’s been modeling since she was 14, has done an amazing job making the brand look good. She’s got enough grace to look beautiful and enough edge to pull it off. The offspring of Steven Tyler of Aerosmith makes these jeans look edgy and chic at the same time, a feat very few could accomplish.

Check her out at the launch of the ad campaign at Fall/Winter 2010 Fashion Week!

I am loving the newer trends on the runway for Fall 2010. New York Magazine’s videos really give you an inside look!! Here, New York Magazine’s Aja Mangum discusses the nail trends for Fall 2010.

I like this video with the one black crazy eyebrow and a partially black lip and the very pretty smoky eye and a peach cheek. Lots of silver and beige in this look. If you take away the wild eyebrow and black line under the lip, this is a pretty look for going out!
You don’t have to go completely wild and wear this look yourself, but you can take some of the very pretty tips and tricks and tone them down to make it your own.
♥ it!

MAC Spring Colour Forecast Collection Review & Recommendations
Saying that this collection was jam packed with products would be an understatement. I got 6 different lipsticks and there were still many more I didn’t get. Out of the 4 Spring Colour Forecast collections, I ended up getting mostly products in the Collections 1, 2 and 3.
In fact, I don’t think I got anything in the Spring Colour Forecast 4 collection just because the colors were not so amazing to me, and very orange/beige which are just colors that don’t work with my skin tone.
Overall, I’d have to say that I am very happy with this collection and the variety of color options. Pretty much anyone could find something they liked in this collection whether you like color or something more sheer, there’s products in each of these collections for you.
While I bought mostly lipsticks and products in Collections 1, 2 and 3, there were many pretty options available from Collection 4, I just didn’t have the money to buy it all so I bought what I thought were the best options for me.
Want to know what I think you should buy? Here are my recommendations:
- Must-haves: Electric Fuchsia lipglass, Bubblegum Lipstick, Rose Maiden Lipstick, Azalea Blossom Blush Ombre, Very Violet Eyeshadow.
- Wishlist: Fresh Salmon Lipstick, Radicchio Lipstick, Victorian Lipstick, Perky Eyeshadow, Stacked1! Crushed Metal Pigments, Ripe Peach Blush Ombre
- Skip: Purple Rage Lipglass, Collection 3 Eyeshadow Quad
I really enjoyed the huge amount of products available this collection. The Blush Ombres are the most beautiful and unique blushes I’ve seen in quite some time. Even after using it, the ombre effect of the shadow in the pan remains. All of the colors will give you a youthful, romantic glow.
Here’s a recap of this collection:
I hope that you all enjoy my reviews and all of my photos and swatches. It’s a lot of work, but worth it!! If you don’t like anything from this collection, I’d say save your money for one that is more you. Buying makeup should be something that’s done for fun or for function. Don’t feel like just because everyone else is buying it that you need to. Buy it because you like it!! Have fun with your makeup!!
Please do not steal or use these images unless you have permission to do so. Email me if you’d like to use them and I’ll let you use them as long as you link back to this post! ;)

MAC Spring Colour Forecast Collection Lipsticks, Swatches & Review US $14.00 (3 g / 0.1 US oz)
Launch Date: February 11, 2010
Availability: MAC Stores
I am happy to say that MAC did not disappoint with this huge collection! What a way to start off a new year, with tons of colors and choices to choose from.
I love lipstick because sometimes it’s easier to pull off a bright lip than it is to pull off bright and wild eye makeup. Whether you want something sheer that gives you a soft wash of color or something bright that really stands out, the MAC Spring Colour Forecast Collection is for you!

As far as lipsticks go, I stuck mostly with the options from Collections 1 and 2 because those are the colors that best suit my skin tone and preferences. As you can see by the boxes, most of the lipsticks I bought were glazes, lustres or frosts because they’ve got a little shimmer and aren’t quite as opaque as the other lipstick consistencies.
I’m going to separate each of my reviews of the lipsticks by Colour Collection so that if you decide you want to buy any of them, it’s easy for you to find them on MAC’s website.

MAC Spring Colour Forecast Collection Lipglasses $14.00 (4.8g / 0.17 oz)
Launch Date: February 11, 2010
Availability: MAC stores, maccosmetics.com
As you can see, I didn’t indulge and purchase as many lipglasses this collection as I usually do. Normally I’m all about a pretty, glossy lip but not many of the colors were unique enough for me to spend more money buying them.
Though each Collection had a few shades, I only ended up getting 4 of them. My favorite, hands down, is Electric Fuchsia. It’s the only one that is really unique and stands out from the rest.
Which were your favorites?
Spring Colour Forecast Collection 1
- Electric Fuchsia is a very vibrant, fuchsia purple with hints of magenta and very pretty purple shimmer. It’s beautiful on its own or layered on top of lipsticks. I like the brightness of this gloss and the shimmer is noticeable but doesn’t feel grainy on the lips.
- Hush Hush Rose is a muted watermelon pink color that is rather opaque with golden specks of shimmer in it. It’s a good medium between the pink of a watermelon and coral which is more present when you see it on the lips. It’s a subtle sheen that’s very wearable and smooth on the lips.
Spring Colour Forecast Collection 2
- Chacha is a sheer coral color with specks of pink glitter. It’s not very opaque but it really makes the lips look luscious and pretty.
Spring Colour Forecast Collection 3
- Purple Rage isn’t as purple as you’d think considering the name. It’s a deep reddish pink with kind of a fuchsia undertone to it. It has subtle shimmer but just makes your lips look like a you stained it with beats. It’s pretty but it doesn’t apply as evenly as I’d like.
I didn’t get any other glosses, since I already have so many in my collection, haha!
