As many of you may have noticed, there are lots of bold trends in fashion right now.  Lace, ruffles, sparkles, and bright colors are the trends at the forefront of fashion and style.  Contrary to popular belief, you don’t need to spend a lot of money to incorporate today’s popular trends in your wardrobe.

Considering the economic slump that the world has been in lately, it gets tedious and unrealistic to spend one’s time shopping for the latest trends that are in today and out tomorrow.  That’s why I’d say stick with what looks good on you and skip buying expensive, trendy pieces that will be a fashion don’t next season.

Invest in a black dress, if you can pull of the one-shouldered asymmetrical look, than go for it! That’s one of the trends I think will be with us for awhile as it’s popular among celebrities and designers.

To add pops of color in your wardrobe, get a scarf or an accessory that is really bold, bright and even obnoxious.  That way you’re incorporating the bright look for very cheap and not looking wild and crazy in the real world.  Not all of us, in fact, very few of us can pull off the wild and risky looks Lady Gaga wears.

If you’re not wild about ruffles or lace but still would like to update your current look to stay on trend, you can get accessories with lacy or ruffled accents.  A purse with subtle ruffling or lace detail can be quite chic and affordable.  You don’t need to wear the trend to incorporate it into your wardrobe!!  You could also opt for lace tights or a skirt with a ruffle hemline to be subtle but in style.

Glitter, sparkle and shine are all hot this season but in most offices (or classrooms), a face full of glitter is a no-no. To incorporate subtle shimmer and glitter into your wardrobe you can opt for shiny metallic accessories and shoes.  They’re subtle enough accents to not get you in trouble or gawked at, but they’re enough of a statement to ensure you’re going to be on trend and looking great.  For the glitter, I’d say skip it unless you’re going out at night.  You could put a thin layer of glittery nail polish on your nails or wear a thin coat of lightly glittered eyeliner.  It just depends on where you work or go to school and their dress code.

Bottom line, you don’t need to spend a lot of money or time looking great.  Most of the items you’d want or need to incorporate the current trends in your wardrobe to update it can be purchased anywhere, even cheaper places like Walmart and Target.

Happy shopping and I hope you all are able to work the trends and look as beautiful as you feel!!

I saw this preview of the Summer 2010 MAC products on Twitter.  What do you think??  I love the bright colors and I am so excited for the seahorse beauty powder.  The orange packaging reminds me of the MAC Solar Field 2008 packaging.  From what we can see, the imprints of shells on the products aren’t stickers or anything cheesy looking, hopefully it is as pretty in person!!

When this collection comes out, will you buy it?

If you watched yesterday’s Super Bowl game, chances are you saw one of the better commercials featuring Megan Fox in a tub of bubbles with her new Motorola phone.

Of course it was one of the favorites because she’s beautiful and gorgeous but it’s not her good looks garnering so much attention, it’s her thumbs.

Megan fox suffers from a hereditary defect known as brachydactyly where her thumbs look more like short, stubby “toe thumbs”.  I mean come on, it’s not like a “toe thumb” is a deal breaker for a guy, but noticeably absent from the commercial were her deformed thumbs.

It’s no secret that the Transformers hottie has strange looking thumbs, anyone who’s watched one of her movies probably caught it long ago.  The real issue (if you’d even consider it one) is that Ms. Fox used a hand double for her Motorola Superbowl Commercial.

As you can see, the thumb int he photo is much longer and more normal looking.  As if it really even matters!! As someone with rather short, unsexy hands, I’d use a hand double if I were going to be in such a widely seen commercial!! She’s gorgeous regardless.

Watch the commercial below in case you haven’t seen it yet!! Which commercials were your favorites? Which did you hate? Let me know in the comments!

I’ve always admired the Apple iPhones from afar.  Once a loyal Apple computer user, I would come very close to buying the iPhone 3G had it not been for my loyalty to T-Mobile, their stellar service of my account, and my utter dislike for all things AT&T.

Though I’m not trying to bash AT&T by any means, their service in Hawaii where I live, is far from adequate so I’ve stuck loyally with T-Mobile.  If T-Mobile sold the Nexus Google phone I’d have purchased it already but for now, my MyTouch 3g will have to suffice.

Images and information about the newest generation of iPhones has been leaked on MacRumors.com and let me tell you, I might just convert!!  UGH I wish i didn’t dislike AT&T so much because I would’ve bought the iPhone long ago.

Anyhow, here’s the photos and information from MacRumors.com:

iPhone repair site iResQ has posted photos of what it claims are parts for the fourth-generation iPhone presumably due for launch later this year. Among the most notable features of the claimed parts are a front panel that appears to be approximately 1/4″ taller than the current iPhone 3GS.

The front panel of the phone has a reflective surface by the earpiece though I don’t know what its function would be.

I’d say that I agree with MacRumors.com that this “sneak peek” should be taken with a grain of salt because it might be a hoax or a clever dupe.

Nevertheless, the new Apple iPhone 4g is rumored to be released this year.

Will you be picking one up?  I am seriously debating doing so although I may wait several months just to make sure that if there are any bugs or design flaws to the 4g that it’s resolved by the time I purchase it.  Not only that, it may be cheaper down the line.  (Remember the uproar of anger from Apple fans who bought the 3G and then months later it took a significant drop in price?)

Will you purchase it?  Let me know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!

sugarbomb

Benefit’s Sugarbomb blush is one of the most amazing blushes I’ve ever tried.  The powder deemed “the sugar rush blush powder” has quickly gained quite a following comparable to the likes of NARS Orgasm blush.

Here’s what Sephora.com says this blush does:

Gimme some sugar—with sugarbomb! These four unique shades of rose, shimmering pink, soft plum, and peach blend together perfectly for a delicious “sugar rush flush.”

The blush itself is divided into 4 different colors:  peach, rose, shimmering pink and soft plum and when swiped together, creates the perfect amalgam of color to create a perfectly subtle flush.

Taylor Swift, Best Dressed

There were a few shining stars among the amalgam of fashion don’ts!  Taylor Swift, Lea Michele, Carrie Underwood and Miley Cyrus were my top picks for the Best Dressed of the night!

Perhaps it was because the fashion was so eclectic and daring at this year’s Grammys but I found myself liking the simply chic looks far more than the outlandish and wild looks that walked down the red carpet.  Taylor Swift looks completely elegant in a midnight blue sequined gown.  The cut and neckline is flattering to her figure, add perfect hair, makeup and jewels and she’s completely flawless!

Miley Cyrus looks amazing, long legs
Miley Cyrus is also one of my Best Dressed of the evening.  Her short, fun number showed off her amazing legs.  It’s fun but not risque, perfect for a young woman coming in to her own and adopting a more grown-up look!  Her bold eyes and nude lips work perfectly with the short mini-dress and her long locks.  Love it Miley!

Lea Michele looks fit and fab

Not to be left out, Lea Michele from the Fox hit Glee, looked amazing in a short, black dress with long, smooth hair and flawless makeup.

All the ladies on my list look amazing and beautiful!  Note that this is the first time Nicole Kidman hasn’t had a makeup mishap in quite some time!

Lady Gaga proves she's a woman by showing off the most painful camel toe ever

There were so many celebrities dressed like crap at the Grammy Awards this year!  Ok, ok, I get that the Grammy Awards are arguably music’s biggest night and that the fashion is supposed to be more fun and edgy, but this year it was down right ugly. I know some of you will disagree with me on some of my choices, but take them for what they’re worth, just an opinion.

Worst dressed of the night, sorry peeps, is Lady Gaga.  Sure it’s kind of her thing to be cutting-edge and choose strange ensembles that push the envelope, but every one of the outfits she wore at the Grammys were just too much for me.

Check out the gallery below to see all the photos of my picks for worst dressed!

What did you think of the Grammys last night?  Did you watch?  Best performance goes to Beyonce or Pink…at least that’s what I think.  Overall, good show, great ratings, but TERRIBLE fashion UGH.  Most of it was retched, so unflattering.  I’ll go into it more a little later.

There were a few big winners, namely Beyonce who took home 6 awards and Kings of Leon.  Check out the gallery below for images of some of our favorite winners!
